Erin Ruane promoted to vice president of sales; Mark Mathis named general manager, agent/broker sales
Norfolk, Va. (February 26, 2015) – Homes.com®, a leading online real estate destination and provider of real estate marketing solutions, has announced promotions in its senior leadership team. Erin Ruane was promoted to Vice President of Sales. In this new role, Ruane will oversee all real estate sales initiatives for Homes.com, including agent and broker efforts, mortgage, new home builder, rentals and national key accounts. Mark Mathis was promoted to the new role of General Manager, Agent/Broker Sales, and will report directly to Ruane. Mathis will leverage his years of working closely with agents and brokers to lead all sales efforts for Homes.com’s agent and broker sales teams.

An accomplished executive with nearly 20 years of experience in digital real estate marketing and advertising sales, Ruane previously served as Homes.com’s executive director of business initiatives where she was responsible for key accounts, mortgage, builder and rentals categories. She started her career marketing new homes to real estate professionals, working directly with agents and brokers on behalf of John Wieland Homes & Neighborhoods and Ashton Woods Homes in Atlanta. Ruane joined Trader Publishing Company in 2000 as a marketing manager for HarmonHomes.com, and was promoted in 2002 to vice president, east division for Harmon Media Group, comprised of more than 40 classified publications and 10 major broker custom publications. During her tenure with Harmon Media Group, she also ran the HarmonHomes.com portal as well. Prior to 2013, Ruane served as director of digital advertising sales for LIN Media, the second-largest owner and operator of television stations and local news websites in the U.S., arming nearly 300 traditional media sales executives with successful digital advertising strategies for their clients. Ruane graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Arts in English.

Mathis joined Homes.com in 2008 as the executive director of broker sales and successfully built a dedicated national sales group, providing real estate professionals a local sales contact in major markets across the country. Prior to joining Homes.com, Mathis was a senior vice president at REALTOR.com, leading a sales team of more than 140 people both inside and outside, and was instrumental in helping grow revenues to over $100 million during his tenure. Mathis started his career at REALTOR.com in 2000 as a regional territory manager and quickly moved into sales management. Prior to REALTOR.com, Mathis held sales and management positions with Costar Group, John Deere and Alamo Rent-A-Car. He graduated from California State University Fresno with a Bachelor of Science in criminology.
